Individuals who suffer from mental disorders do benefit from psychotherapy. From Mood Disorders to Complex Trauma, therapy has been shown to alleviate nagging symptoms.
At the same time, I also welcome you even if you have never been diagnosed. Whether an issue has weighed on you or you’ve been nursing a heartache, getting to know the parts that are affected may very well be the key to your breakthrough.

Two answers: In terms of modality, I provide IFS therapy exclusively.
In terms of populations, I offer individual and group therapy. (Check home page for group therapy openings).
Why should I see a PhD as my therapist?
Why should I see a PhD as my therapist?
In California, “psychologist” refers to a professional who has earned a doctorate degree, which is the highest academic degree available (examples: PhD, PsyD, or EdD).
A word of caution is in order. Some Master-level therapists continue their education and obtain a doctoral degree. While this qualifies them to be referred to as “doctor,” not all of them are licensed by the Board of Psychology (BOP).
Why is this significant? Because only clinicians who are licensed by the BOP have both completed an additional 1,500 hours of supervised clinical experience post-graduate school and passed two rigorous examinations. Licensed psychologists are uniquely identified by the letters “PSY” prior to their license number.
By choosing a therapist with a doctoral education AND doctoral-level license, you are getting the best of the best.
